ETSY PRODUCTS: INTRO
Many people unfamiliar with Etsy do not know what kind of products can be found on this expansive marketplace. Etsy is known for being the largest handmade marketplace. Other handmade marketplaces have tried to approach the growth rate of Etsy, but they have had limited success. The second largest handmade marketplace is Amazon, and it is nowhere near Etsy. I have decided to dedicate this entire post to serve as an overview for Etsy Products. Hopefully this post will help people looking for products to buy or sell on this expansive marketplace.

ETSY PRODUCTS: GUIDE
This guide serves as general information for some of the popular products that can be found on Etsy. Etsy is a large marketplace, but it is constantly changing. The statements listed below are accurate as of the post date. I will occasionally review this post for accuracy reasons, and I will update it accordingly.
Etsy specializes in selling handmade items. This is a general term, because there are literally thousands of items that are made by hand. The main idea is that these items are not mass produced by machines. As a result, there is an endless number of Etsy Products. This is one of the reasons why Etsy has been so successful.
Some of the popular categories of handmade products that are listed on the Etsy Homepage include:
- Clothing and Accessories
- Craft Supplies and Tools
- Home & Living
- Kid’s and Baby
You can tell by the variety of these categories that there are almost endless options of Etsy Products. You can even check out my List of Popular Etsy Categories for more information.
My Etsy Products
Personally, I spent a lot of time trying to decide what products to sell on Etsy. I ended up choosing wooden items, primarily because I had the tools available to make wooden items. I knew that woodworking tools are expensive, so it meant that there would be less people operating in this category. I started off selling wooden pallet signs, but I quickly discovered that this was a crowded area and that these products were a pain to package and ship. I learned my lesson and started looking to smaller items to make. All of the products I currently sell can fit in a shoe box. I find it is much easier that way. Eventually, I started marketing my wooden items as wedding products, and it was a natural fit. I have continued to sell the same successful products, and I focus on 1-2 of my favorites.
Find a Niche
If you are looking for a product to sell, try to find a niche that you would feel comfortable operating in. I suggest reading my list of Best Selling Handmade Items. This can help give you ideas of some good products to sell. Try to stay away from overly crowded niches, unless you have a special way to differentiate your products. Try to think of tools or items that you have available to create your handmade items. You can also bounce your ideas off of friends and family. Don’t spend too much time trying to pick a product; the important thing is to get started. Most likely you will adapt and your first products will not be your most popular items.
ETSY PRODUCTS: CONCLUSION
I hope that this post has helped you discover great examples of Etsy Products. There are thousands of different types of products that are sold on Etsy, and they make perfect gifts. This is the main reason that I have spent so much time and money shopping on this great handmade community. This Handmade By Ulala website is dedicated to helping support handmade sellers and focuses on the products that are sold on the large handmade marketplaces. Feel free to contact me with any questions, I answer most messages same day.
